Back in the Country and On the Fly.

 It has been quite a while since I've been on here, it's been a fantastic 5 weeks as I travelled around Asia with my partner Lucie, I didn't want to come back but all good things must come to an end as they say. We arrived in Gatwick around Midday from Bangkok and with in two hours I was rod in hand and marching the bank in search of a Trout, it wasn't about size yesterday, I just wanted to catch.  Catch I did but the effort was rewarded with something that fought dirtier than a spotty, there could only be one the nice stocky Chub that took a liking to my fly, I didn't weigh her but I put it down as a good 4lb+. I know Chub are out of season but catching them on a wet fly in unavoidable and something I unfortunately could not control, therefore it's a silly fish and I look happy with a fin-perfect chevin.  On the light gear it was a pleasure as usual but on the Trout front I was made to wait until the last knockings as a spirited pound p
